One of the first yards in Alang to have a concrete floor, to receive HKC SOC from Class NK and get certified in ISO 30000:2009 standard, Yard 2 commenced its operations in 2008.

Yard 2 has also obtained an independent verifier certificate for EUSRR compliance from IR Class.
As part of the selection process for inclusion in the EU list of Ship Recycling yards, desktop reviews have been carried out, followed by a site audit of the Yard by DNV-GL on behalf of the European Commission Directorate-General Environment.
A 100% impermeable floor with 8 layers including concrete, ISO certified Geo-Membrane, Sand & M.S Plates with a drainage system.
A corresponding tank storage capacity up to the intertidal zone.
A dedicated oily block handling zone, oily machinery/equipment handling zone, and oily water storage tank.
Piped dual automatic fire fighting system with requisite fire hydrants, hose reels and fire monitors.
A well-designed, impermeable floor jetty consisting of eight layers, along with an efficient drainage system, enables convenient handling of cut blocks and other materials directly from the vessel. This process eliminates the need for contact with the intertidal zone, ensuring a streamlined recycling process and minimizing the risk of any spillage into the sub-soil or intertidal area. Additionally, this type of jetty provides constant and unrestricted access between the vessel and the jetty at all times.
The yard has a dedicated cutting zone on impermeable 8 layered floor for cutting operations.
Hazardous Material Storage Rooms have been upgraded to manage hazardous materials with the necessary care and in better conditions to fulfill the standard compliance criteria, with the safety and health of workers taken into complete consideration. We now have 15 rooms for different types of hazardous waste.
Yard 2 has 11 cranes ranging from 5 MT cap to 300 MT cap. With two heavy lift cranes of 300 MT and 208 MT. The yard can handle substantial working loads. Additionally, being the only yard in the Alang to successfully install and utilize three pedestal fixed cranes of various capacity, namely 110 MT, 75 MT AND 55 MT, demonstrates the yard’s versatility in managing different lifting of requirements. These cranes provide us with a wide range of lifting capacities, allowing to handle blocks and objects of varying size and weights efficiently and safely.
The yard has 6 winches in sets of two’s with 90 Mt SWL each.
